Memories from APDSA 2008 Surabaya

Finally, I can write about Asia Pasific Dental Student Association (APDSA) 2008!!!

I think it’s gonna be quite expired to tell, but it’s so difficult to me for having a spare time in last two weeks to write so many APDSA’s experiences….tell you what, it’s my 1st APDSA, last year I didn’t join the Taiwan’s APDSA…I took a role as a group leader and I had never realized that APDSA would give me so much fun!!

This post contains more pictures and lomographs than words themselves, hahah, because i’m such lazy writer…but picture talks more than words, doesn’t it? heheh, lame excuse..

Ah, for your information, I use Kodak GOLD ISO 200 for my fisheye 2…

August 9th-10th: Arrival and the Preparation

Me and my friends from University of Indonesia came to Surabaya 2 days earlier than the participants (so did Padjajaran and Trisakti University), for giving some aids to the Airlangga University’s LOC to be well prepared…Salute for Airlangga’s LOC, they are just 33 people, but they can prepare this event in a great way!!! Kudos for ya!!

August 11th: Delegation Arrival and Opening Ceremony

I was doing registration on that day, eerrr, not the registration officially…I was just helping the registration crew to find the correct size of participants’ shirts…ahah, quite simple, but when in the rush hour I must do the max acceleration…

After that, opening ceremony!! I did the food parade and then met my group members…Ah, okay, they are Indah and Natalia (Indonesia); Anne, Elma, Justin and Eric (Taiwan); Ayaka (Japan); Lottie (Korea); Man, Shikin, and Harry (Malaysia)

August 12th: Lecture, City Tour, and City Games

After some lectures, we were going to Tugu Pahlawan and Health Museum for City Tour, and Pakuwon Supermall for City Games…ahh, I felt like I was messing up with those city games, sorry for that, okay?

August 13th: Lecture and Cultural Night

Time for lectures again!! got some quotes here:

God gives you 2 sets of teeth, “FREE”….The 3rd set, you have to pay!

Profit is not the dirty word

A wealthy man is a dreamer with the deadline

Aha, what a quote!!!

And that night we had cultural night at Airlangga University, kinda weird seeing so many different traditional costumes worn by participants, give the fact that so many cultures exist in Asia!! but it’s very fun though!!!

#22 Ken with…ahh, I don’t know his name..sit in Becak

August 14th: SRC, Waterpark, and G-Walk

It’s my favourite day, I don’t know why…especially at the waterpark…ahaha, miss that moment..the G-walk was memorable too, for sure…

August 15th: Local Tour and Closing Ceremony

Since I didn’t join that Mount Bromo tour, I went for local tour: Airlangga University- House of Sampoerna- Mirota…and that night was my last night in Surabaya, we did the Closing Ceremony…Man got 3rd position for SRC and my friends (Alit, Dwee, Elien) got 5th…Oh ya, Man became king of group 23, and Elma took the Queen…Finally, I tried Rawon Setan (in front of my hotel, JW Marriott) at that night and then went to Drago Cafe…

Lazarev and Svetlana

Shiro Lazarev

 Diana Svetlana

Awalnya pengen menaikkan derajat Diana F+ gw dengan lensa fisheye, tapi setelah melihat-lihat Fisheye 2 bertengger di etalase dan kayaknya minta dibeli :D …akhirnya gw merampok bank terdekat menguras sedikit lagi tabungan gw, untuk membelinya!!! Pemikiran gw:

  2. Lensa Fisheye buat Diana F+ ternyata mahal juga kalo itungannya cuma dapet lensa aja, gw kirain berapa harganya, 100 ribu perak gitu *bodoh , eh lebih mahal…sekalian aja gw beli kamera Fisheye benerannya, emang agak mahal sih, at least gw dapet kameranya, dan masih di bawah sejuta, still reasonable

Now, I’m working on 3rd roll for Svetlana and very 1st roll for Lazarev…wish me luck with them!!
