Foster The People Live in Jakarta

It was midweek madness, but hey we had Foster the People live in concert!

Too bad I couldn’t bring my D90 and I could only bring my Lumix.

Also, I wasn’t in the front row in the festival section, yeah so I can say the image quality is not good enough but still acceptable.

Oh I wish I got the all-access-ID to capture the show’s best angle!

1,5 hours. 13 songs.

Spotlighted songs?

Miss You, Pumped Up Kicks (of course!) as an ending, and….

Broken Jaw! Really, I had goosebumps.

Not because I responded to cold or fear, but I was super-excited.

For an opening tour of this year, you did great job!

Thank you, Foster The People!

Not much words.

I just want to run, escape from reality.

and again, Bali is never boring.

Capturing Jak-Japan Matsuri 2011

“Jak-Japan Matsuri” is a Festival of Japan in Jakarta, which is expected to be a cultural information about the Japanese culture for the Indonesian people who want to know Japan more. This year is the 3rd one, held from September 18th to 25th. I only attended the closing ceremony at Monumen Nasional, because, yeah it’s in weekend.

Got some shots, maybe just ordinary shots, because there was so much crowds and it was scorcher!! totemo atsui desu!!

Such a fun, fun, fun festival! You can see omikoshi, cosplay, some Japanese dances, and  also eat Japanese foods~

But the main interesting point is the friendship between Japanese and Indonesian people here are reflected obviously, it’s priceless.

Look forward to attending this festival again, next year. Oh, how I love Japan!

Jaa!

APDSA: Memories and Dreams

So, the journey started at 2008 back there at Surabaya, Indonesia.

My very first APDSA and I was a group leader at that time.

Met with other dental students from many countries in Asia-Pacific and also shared the culture.

The excitement still exists until now, I never forget what a great experience it was.

And the journey continues to 2009 at Penang, Malaysia.

It was so memorable that my seniors won the 1st place on SRC’s Oral Presentation.

And then I, actually me and my research group, were inspired.

“We can do it, too!”

We prepared the research well and planned it to be presented on Japan’s APDSA 2010.

But. it was not our time yet.  Our team didn’t get the quota because the enormous excitements from Indonesia to join it.

A little dissappointment, but yeah we just wait for next APDSA.

Then the 2011 arrived and finally our research got selected! So we go as a team for APDSA 2011 in Bangkok just now.

“Luckily”, I’m the one chosen as presenter for my group.

Excited with a bit feeling of worried, but there’s nothing to lose!

It’s already an honour to be selected and joined such this international competition.

I remembered the time when we started the research back there.

Until this memorable and precious moment!

It’s 2nd place for SRC’s Oral Presentation!

Maybe we’re not the best, but we did our best. :)

Well then, probably it would be my last APDSA, but as APDSA’s seniors said, “Once APDSA, always APDSA!”

Jaa!

(I’ll write the memories from this Bangkok’s APDSA on the next post if I got time, heheh :D )

Can’t get enough of this city.

Maybe I won’t talk too much, the pictures will do the talk.

Begin with The Rocks Market

To the Nielsen Park/Watsons Bay – the Gap Bluff!

I mean, who can resist to enjoy this beautiful view?

Relax for a while,

We sail to Manly!

I’ll share more.

Until then.

With all of evidence happened, I shouldn’t choose this path at the first place. I’m out of luck.

Thanks to this event which slaps my face.

Number of chances are available, obstacle in the process is just a thing.

Everything will be alright at the end,

otherwise,

it’s not the end.

Unemployement is just one thing.

The big stuffs are betrayal and the following domino effect.

Hey, it’s really happened in this country!

Maybe, now it’s not your time anymore.

But soon I will make something to make you really proud, Dad.

Just wait, of course on my own way.

Capturing the Jazzin’ Java

It’s my first Java Jazz, I’m a beginner.

The traffic was not friendly, I came so late there on 20.30.

Sondre Lerche’s performance is my target.

Randomly queued up outside the hall. Luckily, good things happened, it is the right hall!

Not a die-hard fan, just know some songs of his, but the show was awesome.

It’s quite fun. Choirs everywhere.

Talking about capturing moments in this show, it was challenging.

It’s so crowded there with many people blocked your views, even in 2nd row seat.

But, I’m quite satisfied with the result, although I got only a few clear shots.

My next target was to capture Corinne Bailey Rae’s performance, but I was too far from stage.

The night became so late, I was so tired.

Time to call it as a goodbye, then I went home.

Really, stage photography is challenging, yet fun! :)

Note:

Hey the last photo was chosen to become one of Editor’s choices on March 8th ’11 in  Fotografer.net

See the picture inside red circle?

I call it somewhat achievement, at least for me. :P
